Track Has Impressive Weekend in NYC

NEW YORK CITY – Sophomore Katie Simon took top honors in the steeplechase with a time of 11:21.59 at the N.Y. Relays at Icahn Stadium in New York City. Freshman Brittany Pryor finished first in the shot put for the second straight week with a throw of 14.81 meters. Sophomore Sheron Mark finished first in the triple jump with a mark of 12.46 meters. Mark also took third in the long jump with a leap of 5.97 meters.
Junior Alisha Ricardi finished second in the pole vault clearing 3.20 meters. Juniors Sarah Bentley and Jessyca Jackson took third and fourth, respectively with a mark of 3.05 meters. Freshman Kathleen Sanborn finished third in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:36.05.
Sophomore Joey Ziminsky took third in the steeplechase with a mark of 9:20.81. Senior Chris Telesford tallied a fifth-place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.21 meters. Sophomore Dan Pribula tallied a 15.02-meter toss in the shot put for a third-place finish. Freshman Zack Whalen tied for fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 1.36 meters. Sophomore Aulton Kohn tied for fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.04 seconds.
SU returns to action at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia on April 28-30.
