Orange Softball Adds Two More for 2005-06

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse softball head coach Mary Jo Firnbach has announced that Jorden Rosen and Traci Trujillo have committed to play for the Orange beginning in 2005-06. Rosen and Trujillo are the eighth and ninth newcomers to next season’s roster.
Rosen is a native of Sugar Land, Texas and is currently a senior at Clements High School. The right-handed hitting first baseman has helped the Rangers to a 23-5 record so far in 2005. She is batting .384with three home runs and 41 runs batted in. Rosen has also posted seven doubles and four triples during her senior season. She was an all-district honorable mention selection in 2004.
Trujillo is from Arcadia, Calif. and currently a sophomore at Pasadena City College. Trujillo, an outfielder, has helped the Lancers to a 24-11-1 record in 2005 by batting .406 with 22 runs scored and 12 runs batted in. She is also 20-for-26 in stolen bases. She was a first-team All-South Coast Conference pick in 2004 after hitting .398 with 31 runs scored and 30 stolen bases. Trujillo is a graduate of Temple City High School where she was a four-time first-team all-conference selection
The Orange is currently 27-16 overall and 11-3 in the BIG EAST. The team finishes the regular season this weekend with doubleheaders at Pittsburgh on Saturday, April 30 and at Notre Dame on Sunday, May 1. With four victories, SU would secure its first-ever BIG EAST regular-season championship and be the top seed in the conference tournament.
