4/7/2005 12:16:10 PM | Women's Rowing
BOSTON, Mass. -- After finishing just seconds behind Yale University last weekend, the Syracuse women’s rowing team jumped from No. 18 to No. 15 in the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association/USRowing Poll. The 15th-ranked Orange will face Northeastern and Penn on Saturday, April 9 for the Orange Challenge Cup in Boston.
The Orange is looking to take the cup home for the third consecutive year. The Orange Challenge Cup has been awarded to the winner of the Syracuse-Northeastern-Pennsylvania race since 1979. Last week, the Orange was forced to race on Friday afternoon instead of Saturday morning because of the weather forecast. The forecast this weekend may alter SU’s schedule once again. Check suathletics.com for any changes in the women’s rowing schedule.
SU hosts Harvard and Dartmouth next week and then travels to the BIG EAST Rowing Challenge in Worcester, Mass.
