SU's varisty eight awaits a bid to the NCAA Championships, selections will be announced on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Women’s Rowing Takes Fifth at Eastern Sprints

CAMDEN, N.J. – The Syracuse women’s rowing varsity eight finished fifth in the Open Varsity Eight Grand Final with a time of 6:30.50 at the Eastern Sprints on Cooper River in Camden, N.J. The Orange as a team finished eighth, improving on its 10th-place finish from last year.
The SU second varsity eight finished fourth in the petite finals with a time of 6:53.80. The Orange’s varsity four “A” took third in the petite finals with a time of 7:36.10, while the varsity four “B” finished sixth in the grand finals with a time of 8:02.60. SU’s novice eight finished fifth in the petite finals with a time of 7:01.50.
The Orange varsity eight is hoping to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Championships in Sacramento, Calif. on May 26-28. The NCAA selection announcement will be made on Tuesday, May 17 at 4 p.m.
