
Roberts At USA Basketball Tryout Camp

DALLAS, TX -- Junior Terrence Roberts is one of 21 players 21-and-younger who are participating in tryouts for the USA Basketball Men's U21 National Team in Dallas, Tex. The workouts began July 21 and continue through July 23 at the training facility of the Dallas Mavericks.
Team finalists will remain in Dallas for additional workouts July 24-26. The final 12-man roster is expected to be announced prior to August 1 when the team departs for the 2006 FIBA U21 World Championship in Mar de Plata, Argentina.
Phil Martelli, head coach at St. Joseph's (Pa.) is the club's head coach. James "Bruiser" Flint (Drexel) and Dennis Felton (Georgia) are his assistants. His court coaches for the tryouts include Jeremy Cox (Arkansas-Fort Smith), Mike Dunlap (Metropolitan State) and Paul Patterson (Taylor).
Participating in the team's selection along with the coaching staff is SU coach Jim Boeheim, who is chair of the USA Basketball Men's Collegiate Committee.
Roberts started the last seven games of the 2004-05 campaign for the Orange. During the span he averaged 8.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per outing. He played in 33 of SU's 34 contests.
Among his competition for a frontcourt spot on the USA U21 squad are Connecticut's Josh Boone, Glen Davis from Louisiana State, Taj Gray from Oklahoma and Charlotte's Curtis Withers.
