O'Shaughnessy Named to Canadian National Team

VICTORIA, British Columbia—SU men’s rowing team member Dan O’Shaughnessy (Brockville, Ont.) will represent Canada in the 2005 FISA World Rowing Championships in Gifu, Japan, Aug. 28-Sept 4.
O’Shaughnessy, who rowed for the Orange last season as a member of the varsity eight crew, will represent his country of Canada as a member of the coxed four crew.
Joining O'Shaughnessy on the coxed four crew will be Todd Keesey (Saskatoon, Sask.), Daniel Casaca (Toronto, Ont.), Ryan Slate (Kingston, Ont.) and Stephen Cheng (Toronto, Ont.).
The competition will be held at the Nagaragawa International Rowing Course in Gifu. Racing starts with heats on Aug. 28. The finals will be held on Sept 3 and 4.
After competing in the championships, O’Shaughnessy will return to SU to re-join his Orange teammates for his senior season. The Orange opens its season Oct. 9 when it travels to Rochester, N.Y. to compete in the Stonehurst Invitational.
