In 1995 the football Orange beat Minnesota, 27-17, in a game that featured a 94-yard punt return for a touchdown by Marvin Harrison. The Orange men's soccer team is also undefeated on September 23 in the Carrier Dome, including a 3-1 victory against Boston College in 1984 and a 4-2 win against Canisius in 1987.
In 1982 the Grateful Dead performed a concert before nearly 22,000 fans.
More than 23.5 million people have passed through the revolving doors of the Carrier Dome since the building’s first public event on September 20, 1980. Throughout the 2005-06 SU athletics seasons the University will celebrate the first 25 years of the Loud House.
In the first 25 years of the Dome, more than 1,740 events were staged, including collegiate, professional and high school athletics events, University commencement, concerts, a circus, and community events.
