All-time Syracuse rushing leader Joe Morris returned to the Carrier Dome for Legends Day, receiving a rousing ovation from the Carrier Dome fans. Morris' teammate and former Syracuse standout receiver Art Monk welcomed Morris at midfield with Syracuse athletics director Dr. Daryl Gross, Syracuse Chancellor and President Nancy Cantor and Syracuse graduate Brandon Steiner.
"I think Greg Robinson is on the right track," Morris said of the Orange head coach. "People have to understand it takes time to get things done. I would like to see more wins, just like everybody else, but, we're on the track to getting it done. He has the right players in the right positions to do things. Now he needs to recruit a few more things. I think he has a presence in New York City with the New York radio. People in New York can hear Syracuse football for the first time in years. That's going to be good for us, too."
