The football Orange will play on television for the sixth time this season when it faces #4/4 West Virginia on Saturday, October 14 in Morgantown, WV. The game will kickoff at 12:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN Regional Television. Every Syracuse game will be broadcast on the Syracuse ISP Sports Network, which is streamed live on Orange All Access.
This Saturday (Oct. 7), Syracuse hosts Pittsburgh in the BIG EAST Conference opener for the Orange. The game will kickoff at 12:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN Regional TV. Syracuse is 3-2 in 2006. The Orange beat Wyoming, 40-34, in double overtime in the Dome on Sept. 30.
The Syracuse defense ranks first nationally with 5.0 sacks per game and junior Jameel McClain is tied for second in the country averaging 1.4 per contest. The Orange racked up six sacks in its double-overtime victory against Wyoming on Sept. 30, its second-highest total of the year. Against Miami (OH), the Orange recorded eight sacks, which tied for third on the school’s single-game record list and was one off the SU record of nine which the Orange achieved on two occassions (1991 vs. Rutgers; 2000 vs. Virginia Tech).
