
Heather Hess earns BIG EAST honors for second time this Season

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The SU field hockey team had a player named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this week. Sophomore goalkeeper Heather Hess (Lititz, Pa.) received the honor for the second time this season for her performances against Colgate on October 3 and No. 16 Villanova on October 6. Hess also earned the honor on September 4.
Hess recorded her third shutout of the season in SU’s victory against Colgate. The sophomore allowed only one goal at No. 16 Villanova. Hess has seen the majority of action in the cage for the Orange and has recorded a 1.98 goals-against-average and a .656 saves percentage.
Hess joins senior back Michelle Sola (Blando, Pa.) and sophomore forward Alison Babbitt (Spencer, N.Y.) who were named to the BIG EAST honor roll on September 18 and October 2, respectively.
Hess and the rest of the Orange hosts Albany on Wednesday, October 11 at 7 p.m. Live stats will be available on suathletics.com.
