The Syracuse football team will look to win its first BIG EAST game of the season as the Orange travels to Tampa, Florida to play the South Florida Bulls on Saturday. The game kicks off at noon. Syracuse enters the game with a 3-6 record and is 0-4 in conference play while the Bulls own a record of 6-3 and 2-2 in the BIG EAST.
The game will be broadcast on ESPN Regional Television. Orange fans can listen to the Syracuse ISP Sports Network broadcast on Orange All Access (click here) and the radio network.

Orange Friendzy
Traveling with the team? Join Syracuse fans as they root on the Orange against South Florida. The Orange Friendzy pre-game celebration will begin at 10 a.m. and will continue until kickoff at noon. The event will be held at the East Atrium on the Himes Avenue side of Raymond James Stadium. Enter through the north end of the atrium. Breakfast will be available while the food lasts. The Syracuse – South Florida Series
The game is only the second meeting between the two schools. South Florida won the first game, defeating the Orange 27-0 last season.
Shadle Named Lou Groza Semifinalist
Sophomore kicker Patrick Shadle has connected on 13 of 14 field goals this season and is a Lou Groza semifinalist. He is tied for 14th in the NCAA and is second in the BIG EAST with 1.44 field goals per game. His 92.3 field goal percentage is also second in the BIG EAST. Shadle is tied for 72nd in the nation and eighth in the conference with 6.2 points per game and is also fifth in scoring among kickers in the BIG EAST. Shadle’s field goal percentage of 92.9 currently ranks second on SU’s single-season record list. All-American Gary Anderson connected on 18 of 19 field goals during the 1981 season. Shadle has connected on 12-straight field goals, the longest streak by an SU kicker since Nate Trout hit 16-straight during the 1998 and 1999 seasons. He was named a Second-Team Midseason All-American by SI.com.
Rookies Shine in First Season
True freshmen Delone Carter and Mike Williams are having an immediate impact in their first seasons with SU. Carter leads the team with 487 yards and four rushing touchdowns on 119 carries. His 487 rushing yards currently rank fourth in school history by a freshman. Williams is second on the team with 18 receptions for a team-leading 373 yards. He ranks sixth in the BIG EAST with 46.6 receiving yards per game. His 18 receptions rank fourth in the program’s history for a freshman while his 373 receiving yards are the second-most.
