Syracuse defensive end Jameel McClain is a 2006 ECAC Division I All-Star. The junior, who was named second-team All-BIG EAST, recorded 69 tackles, including 14.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks, in 2006. His 14.5 tackles for loss ranks sixth in school history for a single season and his 9.5 sack are the 11th-best mark recorded by an Orange student-athlete.
McClain was tied for 16th in the nation in sacks per game (0.79) and tied for 29th in tackles for loss per game (1.21). His 9.5 sacks led the BIG EAST and he was second in tackles for loss and 15th in tackles per game (5.8). McClain, who was a Ted Hendricks Award Semifinalist for the nation’s best defensive lineman, also forced one fumble and recovered one fumble in 2006.
