SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The SU field hockey team welcomed approximately 90 local youths to a clinic held at the Carrier Dome on Saturday, Feb. 11, from 1-4 p.m. The Orange coaching staff and players helped coordinate skill work, shooting drills and mini-games for girls of all ages and skill levels (mostly high school players).
"We ended up with a good turnout," said associate head coach Mary McCracken. "The clinics are something that we will continue to do in the future. It is a great opportunity to stay in touch with the high school programs in our area and help improve the skill level of the athletes within those programs."
The next event on the calendar for the Syracuse field hockey squad is the annual team banquet on April 1, followed by an alumni tournament at Coyne Field on April 2, with games against Bucknell, Colgate and Cortland.
