In this role, Edson will continue to be primarily responsible for all matters pertaining to the athletics department budget.
“Rob has long served the University and, specifically, the athletics department brilliantly during the past 15 years,” Gross said. “He deserves this promotion as he is an integral part of the Syracuse athletics department leadership. He also coordinated and maintained SU’s comprehensive compliance program.
He served as assistant director of athletic compliance from 1993-96 and was an administrative assistant in the athletic department from 1991-93.
Edson serves as a member of the University’s Judicial Affairs Appeal Board. From 1998-2002 he served on the NCAA Initial Eligibility Clearinghouse committee.
Prior to joining the staff at Syracuse, Edson served as a ticket office assistant at West Virginia University, while working on his master’s degree.
