Boral Places 14th in NCAA Championship Finals

ATLANTA, GA. – Junior Luk Boral (Poznan, Poland) finished 14th in a time of 1:58.64 in Saturday’s 200 breaststroke finals at the NCAA Championship in Atlanta, Ga. Boral broke his own school record in the event in the prelims Saturday afternoon with a time of 158.07.
Boral’s 14th place finish is an improvement from placing 23rd at the 2005 championship. He was one of just two swimmers from the BIG EAST to qualify for the finals of the event. Boral’s time greatly improved on Saturday as he came in to the event with the 19th fastest time in the country of 1:58.71.
In Saturday’s prelims, Boral placed 13th and ousted 2006 BIG EAST Champion Vali Preda of Louisville who finished 15th in 1:58.75.
This was Boral’s third straight trip to the NCAA Championship. He improved in both events he previously competed in at the meet, the 100 and 200 breast. On Friday, Boral missed the finals of the 100 breast, however improved his standing from 38th in 2005 to 31st.
