Want Some Butter With That Roll?
• It’s the best start ever for the Orange against league competition and SU is already within two of tying the team record for most conference wins in a season (12) set in 2002 on its way to its first BIG EAST Tournament appearance.
• SU outscored its foes 29-14 in five games last week and its 2-1 victory against Notre Dame marked the first triumph for the Orange in 2006 when scoring less than three runs.
Morales Earns BIG EAST Honor Roll Nod
• Morales hit .500 (7-14) in BIG EAST doubleheaders versus Notre Dame and DePaul. She belted a pair of doubles in the four games to move into a tie with Andrea Loman of Notre Dame for second on the league’s career doubles list (22). She also hit a home run in game two against DePaul. It was her personal-best seventh long ball of the season and moved her into a tie for seventh on SU’s single-season homers chart.
• Morales had at least one hit in every game and went 3-for-4 with two runs batted in the second game versus Notre Dame on April 8.
Kim Ties SU Freshman RBI Mark
• Teammate Chanel Roehner set the rookie record with 27 RBI in 2005.
• Kim ranks second on the team and 10th in the conference in runs batted in.
• She leads the Orange and ranks sixth in the BIG EAST with a .388 batting average. Kim has hit safely 21 of the 29 games she has played this season.
• She is second on the team in multi-hit games (10) and multi-RBI games (8).
Scouting Niagara
• Jennifer Yee leads the MAAC with a .551 batting average. She has 43 hits in 78 at-bats, including a team-best seven home runs. She is slugging .936. Tori Healy leads the club in runs batted in with 28. She is hitting .429 (33-77) with 11 doubles.
• Tiffany MCrory leads the team in ERA (1.89), wins (8) appearances (13), innings pitched (66.2) and strikeouts (55). Katie Gleiser and Brooke Viola each have four wins on the season.
