Orange Heads To North Carolina To Compete In Fast Times

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Syracuse track and field team heads south to North Carolina to compete in the Carolina Fast Times on Friday and Saturday, April 14-15. Last weekend at the Sam Howell Invitational, freshman Nana Sang-Bender (Syracuse, N.Y.) came away with a win in the 1500m by clocking in at 4:36.84.
Sang-Bender’s mark qualified her for the BIG EAST Championship. Sophomore Marcus Vaughn (North Attleboro, Mass.) qualified for the IC4A Championship in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.71. Freshman Terry Marshall (St. Michael, Barbados) qualified for the BIG EAST Championship in the 400m hurdles by placing fourth with a time of 55.52.
After its trip to the Tar Heel State, the Orange travels to New York City next weekend to compete in the New York Relays.
