PHILADELPHIA – Brett Bucktooth (Onondaga Nation, N.Y.) headlined a list of six Syracuse University men’s lacrosse players named to the 2006 STX/USILA All-America teams. Bucktooth was named to the second team after scoring a team-high 37 goals this season. In addition to Bucktooth, Joe Yevoli (Massapequa, N.Y.) and Brian Crockett (Yorktown, N.Y.) were named to the third team, while Mike Leveille (Delmar, N.Y.), Steve Panarelli (Farmingdale, N.Y.) and Pat Perritt (Holtsville, N.Y.) were honorable mention picks.
Bucktooth earned All-America recognition for the second time after being named an honorable mention All-America in 2005. He led the team in points this season with 55 (37 goals, 18 assists).
Yevoli returned to the All-America team after being named to the second team while playing at Virginia in 2003. He finished the season ranked third on the team in scoring with 42 points (24 goals, 18 assists).
Crockett was a member of the third team for the third time in his career after scoring 19 goals, including the 100th of his career this season. He finished his four-year career at Syracuse ranked 16th in all-time goals with 113.
Leveille’s 31 goals this season earned him his second consecutive All-America honorable mention. It was Panarelli’s third time on the All-America team, while Perritt earned his first nomination after scoring 17 goals in his rookie campaign.
