Dome Sports a New Look in 2006

The Carrier Dome staff is busy preparing the facility for its 27th season of Syracuse football. While some of the changes won't be visible to Orange fans, one update will certainly attract everyone's attention. Banners highlighting significant accomplishments by the SU football, men's basketball and men's lacrosse teams will hang in the northeast, southeast and southwest corners of the building.
The banners measure approximately 30 feet by 20 feet. In addition to the SU athletics banners, another banner features the Syracuse athletics logo, while another, which was designed by Director of Athletics Dr. Daryl Gross, includes New York state themes.
Currently banners featuring the 1959 national championship football team and another highlighting SU's 2003 men's basketball national title have been installed, as has the banner honoring 1961 Heisman Trophy winner, Ernie Davis. Two more banners are being completed, including one to honor SU's rich men's lacrosse tradition.
