
Women's Soccer Loses Third Straight

Winston-Salem, N.C.-The Syracuse women’s soccer team fell to 21st-ranked Wake Forest on Friday, 4-0. The loss drops the Orange to 0-3-0 for the first time in program history and is the second loss to a nationally ranked program this season. The Demon Deacons opened the scoring with a penalty kick in the 29th minute and added another goal three minutes later. They added two more late in the game for their second win of the season.
Junior goalie Candice Hofmann (Marcellus, N.Y.) made a career-high 11 saves in goal for the Orange in the fourth start of her career. Junior Jen Taormina (Liverpool, N.Y.) recorded two shots for Syracuse.
The Orange will visit Binghamton on Wednesday, September 6 at 4:00 p.m. Syracuse is 2-1 against Binghamton all-time.
