SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Heidi Bulk, a sophomore member of SU’s women’s rowing team, is one of 22 student leaders nominated to participate in this year’s Division of Student Affairs’ Student Leadership Institute.
The newly founded Leadership Institute strives to promote exceptional students who have demonstrated leadership qualities such as team building, problem solving, dedication to the community, and respect for diversity.
Bulk and the other students participating in the Leadership Institute will complete various educational activities. They will attend various workshops, exchange in inter-group dialogue, keep journals of activities, work on formal presentations, and attend a three-day annual retreat at the Minnowbrook Conference Center.
This nomination just adds to Bulk’s success. Before coming to row for SU, the Wainfleet, Ontario native led her high school rowing team to a second-place finish at the Canadian Championships in 2006. Bulk also raced for Canada in the junior women’s four crew at the Junior World Championships.
