The Syracuse Orange (12-6, 3-3 BIG EAST), who finished fourth in BIG EAST, will serve as the host institution for the 2007 BIG EAST Championship. The Orange will host BIG EAST regular-season champion Connecticut (18-2, 5-1 BIG EAST) in one of the BIG EAST Semifinals, on Saturday, November 3 beginning at 1 p.m. Louisville (14-5, 5-1 BIG EAST) and Providence (12-7, 4-2 BIG EAST) compete in the other semifinal at J.S. Coyne Stadium at 11 p.m. The two winners will then square off in a noon game November 4. The champion will receive the leagues’ automatic bid to the 16-team NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship.
