Five Boats Compete At The Foot Of The Charles

BOSTON, Mass. – The Syracuse men's rowing team had five boats in the water for the Foot of the Charles competition on Sunday, Nov 17. Combined the Orange had three top-ten finishes in the varsity four and the freshman eight.
The Syracuse "A" boat, which included junior coxswain Jamie Hubbell, junior Martin Etem and seniors Bill Della Giustina, Ryan Armstrong and Dan Lombardi finished 10th in the varsity four with a time of 12:53.9. The Syracuse "C" boat posted a time of 14:20.0 and the Syracuse "B" group had a time of 14:27.8.
In the freshman eight the Orange "A" boat finished third with a time of 13:27.7. The boat consisted of coxswain Kenny Marfilius, Mike Gennaro, Vince Berry, Walker Hannan, Julian Morrison, Dan Turner, Kyle Daughtery, Chip Keyes and Dan Berry.
Coming in eighth place was the Orange "B" boat with a time of 14:24.9. Coxswain Patty Hodapp, Gerald McNeil, Matt Hopek, Tim Daigle, Kevin Beargie, Peter Themistocles, Paul DeNicola, Matt Sisk and Morgan Nowak.
The competition wraps up the fall schedule. The Orange returns to action on April 5-6 for the San Diego Crew Classic.
