Syracuse University Football National Letter of Intent signee Chaz Cervino had a fumble recovery, two deflected passes and a punt return for 11 yards in New Jersey’s 21-14 win over New York in the 10th annual New York/New Jersey All-Star Classic Sunday.
Quarterback David Legree played for New York, completing three of three passes for 75 yards, including a 44-yard touchdown that gave New York a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter.
Running back Doug Hogue was injured on a special teams play early in the first quarter and was sidelined for the day.
In addition, Syracuse 2007 NLI signees Oliver Haney (defensive end), Da’Mon Merkerson (wide receiver/cornerback) and Lamar Middleton (defensive end/tight end) also played for New Jersey.
New Jersey’s win gives it a 7-3 lead in the series. New York has won two of the past four games.
Syracuse’s 2007 pre-season camp begins August 3 and the Orange will kick-off its season on August 31 against Washington at the Carrier Dome at 8:00 p.m. Click here for tickets.
