SU Announces 2007 Spring Athletic Director's Honor Roll

Syracuse University had 287 student-athletes on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the 2007 spring semester. Students from all 17 sports were represented on the list. Student-athletes at Syracuse who earn a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are named to the list. The honor roll was established in the Fall of 1995 to recognize the tremendous efforts of the University’s student-athletes.
Luk Boral, a senior swimmer, has made the Honor Roll every semester at SU. He is also a three-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star and the 2006 male recipient of the Soladay Award, the most prestigious award bestowed upon a student-athlete at Syracuse.
The female recipient of the Soladay Award is also a seven-time member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll at Syracuse. Erin Gray, a senior softball player, is a three-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star and a four-time letterwinner during her career at SU.
Junior field hockey player, Gloria Nantulya, is now a six-time member of the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. She is a two-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star and was named as an Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar.
Senior track and field participant, Candace Ince has been a member of the Honor Roll six times. The spring of 2007 marks her seventh appearance. She was also recently named as an Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar.
Men’s lacrosse team captain, senior Greg Rommel, has made the list every semester while at Syracuse, including spring of 2007. He was the Soladay Award winner in 2006.
Junior Jillian Drouin, a member of the women’s track and field team, has been named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll for the sixth time. Drouin is a two-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star and was recognized by the University, receiving one of the most prestigious scholarship awards, the 2007-08 Remembrance Scholarship.
During the spring semester 55 percent of Syracuse student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher.
