ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Former Syracuse All-BIG EAST standout Gabriel Gervais tallied a goal to help lead the Montreal Impact past the Rochester Raging Rhinos, 2-0, on Friday, Aug. 24 at Paetec Park. Gervais' goal came in the 73rd minute when he beat Rhinos goalie Scott Vallow with a shot into the top of the net.
The victory pulled the Impact to within a point of the Seattle Sounders, who are currently in first place in the United Soccer League First Division standings.
Gervais, a three-time honoree as the USL's Defender of the Year, has been part of nine shutouts for the Impact this season. The team hasn't surrendered a goal in its last five games, a shutout span of 508 minutes.
Former Syracuse standout Chris Aloisi also took part in Friday's match. He is currently a member of the Rhinos.
