Sophomore quarterback Andrew Robinson was honored again for his 423 yard, four touchdown performance at Louisville on Saturday. Tuesday, USA Today named the Baltimore, Md. native the Player of the Week.
Readers of the USA Today make up one-third of the voting popularity. Each week they can submit who they believed had the top performance in the country. Voting takes place from Sunday night to noon on Tuesday and is tallied along side college football editor Erick Smith and Gannett columnist Mike Lopresti's selections.
Robinson, who was 17-for-26 and connected on touchdown passes of 79, 42, 60 and 17 yards, beat out Tulane's Matt Forte, Texas Tech's Graham Harrell and Nebraska's Sam Seller for the award.
On Monday, the Orange signal caller was selected as the BIG EAST Player of the Week. He is only the third quarterback in school history to throw for more than 400 yards in a game.
