Track & Field Returns to Manley Field House on Saturday

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange men and women’s track & field teams return to action following a five-week lay-off on Saturday, January 12 in the Syracuse Welcome Back at Manley Field House.
Syracuse resumes the indoor season after a season-opening non-team scoring meet at the Cornell Relays on December 1. Sophomore Uhunoma Osazuwa powered the SU women’s attack with a first-place finish in the 60m hurdles (9.00m) while finishing second in the long jump (5.70m).
Freshman Victor Nwosu finished fifth in the 60m dash (7.03) and long jump (6.84m), while posting an eighth-place tally in the triple jump (13.02m).
Junior Bernard Bush paced the Orange with a third-place finish in the long jump (6.97m), while classmate Mike Chitro placed third in the 60m hurdles (8.67).
Senior Kaity Lambracht complimented Osazuwa’s 60m hurdles performance with a sixth-place (9.47) finish. Sophomore Annabelle Pellerin’s distance of 1.65m in the high jump earned a second-place tally.
Additionally, Jen Stuczynski, originally from Fredonia, NY, will compete on Saturday at Manley Field House. Stuczynski is the outdoor American record-holder in the women's pole vault at 16-feet (5.88m), one of just three women to clear that standard.

The Orange will be joined by Erie Community College, Geneseo, Rochester Institute of Technology and Ursinus in the Syracuse Welcome Back. The meet is scheduled to begin with the field events at 11:00 a.m.
