SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse ice hockey team concluded its first weekend homestand in program history two weeks ago when the Orange put on a show for the SU faithful, beating Sacred Heart 10-0 and 7-3 in the opening contests at Tennity Ice Pavilion.
The Orange continues to create history this weekend when Syracuse entertains Mercyhurst College at the Onondaga County War Memorial on Friday night, November 14, at 7 p.m. Friday's bout will be the first time the War Memorial will host a Syracuse collegiate ice hockey game. Following the first game against the Lakers, Syracuse returns to Tennity to wrap up the two-game stint against Mercyhurst.
The Orange has gone up against one of the stiffest tests possible this season when SU took on now top-ranked Wisconsin in its second and third games of the season. Syracuse will be challenged again when Lakers sail into Central New York. The squad located in Erie, Pa. has claimed the CHA crown the past six seasons.
Admission to Friday night's game at the War Memorial is free of charge for anyone interested in attending. There are multiple options for parking provided around the facility and the gates will open 90 minutes prior to the puck drop at 5:30 p.m. Links for parking are provided above.
