Martina Loncarica is Not Just Another Face

Freshmen midfielder Martina Loncarica is featured in the November 17 issue of Sports Illustrated in the “Faces of the Crowd” section. Syracuse fans can read Loncarica’s profile by clicking here.
Loncarica’s 59 points rank second on Syracuse’s single-season list. Loncarica was also named the Offensive Player of the Week twice during the season. She is first in the country at 1.38 assists per game, fourth in points and 35th in goals.
Loncarica and the No. 3 Syracuse University field hockey team (20-1) will make its fourth appearance all-time in the NCAA Tournament when it faces No. 17 Massachusetts (17-4) in the first round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament on Saturday, November 15 at 11:30 a.m. at J.S. Coyne Stadium.
Tickets for this weekend’s games are available at SUAthletics.com and in-person at the Carrier Dome Box Office. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for students (with a valid ID) and youth ages 18 and under. Parking will be free in the Manley south lots. Separate tickets are needed for both Saturday and Sunday.
