Field Hockey Spring Clinic: Take Time to Prepare for your 2008 Championship Season Now

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Syracuse University head field hockey coach Ange Bradley and her staff announced that enrollment to the 2008 Spring Field Hockey Clinic Series presented by Kia-Zen Sports, Inc. is now open. The reigning BIG EAST Conference Coach of the Year and assistant coaches Lynn Farquhar and Guy Cathro will hold the clinics which will be held on Syracuse University’s Coyne Field. Each clinic is $30 and is open to players ages 12-17.

Players are welcome to attend just one or all three of the clinics which will be held on Saturday, April 12 from 1:30-4:30 p.m., Sunday, April 13 from 1:30-4:30 p.m. and Sunday, April 27 from 1-4 p.m. Clinics will include tactics, stick skills, special goalkeeping sessions, fitness and playing strategies. All aspects will be taught in a fun and upbeat tempo.

Bradley’s first season with the Orange was one for the record books. Syracuse won its season opener for the first time since 2002 and was 2-0 for the first time since 2001. SU’s success continued as the Orange went 5-0 for the first time since 1997 and the 7-1 mark was the best since 1990. Syracuse qualified for the BIG EAST Championship for the first time since 2005 and the Orange’s No. 18 national ranking on October 9 and 16 was its highest since October 12, 2004.
