SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Christina Puggi, a goalkeeper on the field hockey team, is the Syracuse University Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 17.

Puggi earned Athletic Director’s Honor Roll accolades following the fall 2007 semester. She is majoring in communication and rhetorical studies.

Puggi played in eight games in 2007, boasting a 1.44 goals against average and a .727 save percentage. She tallied a flawless 5-0 record in the cage for the Orange.

The Syracuse field hockey team, under the direction of first-year head coach Ange Bradley finished the 2007 season 12-7 overall and 3-3 in the BIG EAST. The Orange begins spring competition on Saturday, March 29 at Maryland.
