
Brushe Named Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Shannon Brushe, a member of the women’s lacrosse team, is the Syracuse University Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 24.
Brushe, a Catonsville, Md., native, is a seven-time Athletic Director’s Honor Roll selection and has thrice been named a BIG EAST Academic All-Star. She is a tri-major in political science, policy studies and advertising.
Brushe was named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week on Monday, March 17 after Syracuse’s 16-12 win against conference rival Notre Dame. In 43 career games played, she has collected 34 ground balls and 23 draw controls.
The Orange women’s lacrosse team, boasting a 7-1 record thus far in 2008, welcomes No. 1 Northwestern to the Carrier Dome on Monday, March 24 at 7:00 p.m. Syracuse’s battle with the three-time defending national champions will be televised on a tape-delay by ESPNU. Time of the broadcast is yet to be determined.
