SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Orange men’s soccer players and coaches recently spent the afternoon visiting second graders at Tecumseh Elementary in Syracuse as part of the school’s Career Day.
The players described to the children what a typical day is like for a Division I student-athlete and the opportunities they’ve generated through soccer. They also signed autographs and took questions.
Head coach Dean Foti and assistant coaches Jaro Zawislan and Tim Cupello took part in the session, as well as several players including Hansen Woodruff (Stuart, Fla.), Kyle Hall (Toronto, Ontario) and Spencer Schomaker (Seattle, Wash.).
The appearance was part of the ‘Cuse Cares Community Service Program, which is supported by Citizens Bank and immerses Syracuse University student-athletes and coaches in the community.
For the past nine years the 'Cuse Cares program has been recognized with the Chancellor's Award for Public Service (CAPS), given annually to Syracuse University students and student organizations that exemplify the highest ideal of sustained, quality service to the Syracuse community.
