ROWAN REWRITING THE RECORD BOOK
Junior Katie Rowan enjoyed a record-breaking performance in Syracuse’s win against Georgetown, scoring four goals and dishing out seven assists. She broke the single-game school record with 11 points and tied the league mark for most points in a conference game. Her seven assists also tied the SU and BIG EAST single-game mark and give her 37 on the year, which is also a single-season school record. Rowan was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week as well as the national player of the week by WomensLax.com and womenslacrosse.com.
Rowan leads the team in scoring with 80 points and needs just seven more points to break the school single-season scoring record she set last season. In 2007, she notched 86 points on 59 goals and 27 assists.
QUILLINAN REACHES CENTURY MARK
Sophomore Halley Quillinan became the 11th player in the program’s history to score 100 points when she scored four goals and had an assist against Georgetown. The five points against the Hoyas give her 103 in just 30 games for the Orange. She needs six points to tie Jenna Szyluk for 10th place on Syracuse’s career scoring list. Szyluk recorded 109 points from 1998-2001.
Quillinan is third on the team in goals scored this season with 37. She ranks 17th in the country and is tied for fourth in the BIG EAST, averaging 3.36 goals per game.
