During SU's last 12 non-conference games, junior shortstop Jamie Kelling, junior catcher Amy Kelley, freshman outfielder Rachel Helman and sophomore outfielder Ev Anderson have all batted above .400. Behind a team-best 19 hits, Kelling leads the way with a .442 average. Kelley is second with a .436 mark and a .667 slugging percentage. Helman has posted a .421 average, while Anderson has registered a .400 average.
Senior utility player Chanel Roehner has driven in a team-leading 12 runs during the span and is batting .326. Roehner has also made an impact in the circle, throwing 30.0 innings, striking out 19 en route to a 3-0 record and a 1.87 ERA.
Sophomore pitcher Brittany Gardner has posted a 6-1 record with a team-best 1.13 ERA and has struck out 35 batters in 43.1 innings of work.
This season, freshman third baseman Hallie Gibbs, who has totaled a team-best 20 RBI, is only four away from moving into a tie for fifth place on the SU freshman RBI list. Gibbs totaled three RBI during the first game against South Florida and leads the team with seven multi-hit games. She is third on the team with a .380 slugging percentage and second with four home runs, which is tied for fourth all-time by an Orange freshman.
Wednesday game will be the 14th all-time meeting between the two schools since the series was conceived during SU softball's inaugural year, 2000. The Orange leads the series with an 8-6 record and has won five of the last six, but the Big Red was victorious, 5-3, during the last meeting, which took place last season at the Stetson Tournament. The series is tied, 4-4, when the games have been hosted by Cornell.
Cornell, which is on a 12-game winning streak, is coming off four victories at Penn from April 12 through April 13.
Ashley Garvey leads the team with a .413 average and a .455 on base percentage, while Elise Menaker is second with a .378 average, but leads the team with 33 RBI, 10 home runs and a .757 slugging percentage.
Jenn Meunier has been the Big Red’s ace with a 16-1 record and a 1.30 ERA. She has whiffed 82 batters in 112.2 innings. Hitters are betting .175 against her. Ali Tomlinson compliments Meunier in the circle with a 10-4 record and leads the team with 84 strikeouts. She has posted an ERA of 3.08, allowing 39 earned runs.
