ITHACA, N.Y. -- The Syracuse women’s lacrosse team plays its final regular-season game on Tuesday when it takes on Central New York foe Cornell in Ithaca, N.Y. at 7 p.m. The Orange climbed to No.3 in this week’s Inside Lacrosse media poll, its highest ranking in the program’s history. Syracuse was No. 5 in the latest IWLCA poll released last Tuesday. Syracuse has won six straight and has a record of 13-2. The Big Red is ranked No. 13 in the media poll and No. 15 in the coaches’ poll. Cornell, which has won five in a row, has a record of 9-4.

TWO RECORDS WITHIN REACH
Syracuse is within striking distance of two school records. The Orange needs one more victory to set the school record for most wins in a season. The 13 victories in 2008 equals the school mark the Orange set last season when it posted a 13-6 record. In addition, Syracuse is just four goals shy of setting the single-season standard for most goals scored. The 2007 Orange also set that record when it found the back of the net 288 times in 19 games. This season Syracuse has 285 goals in 15 games.
DOVE NETS 100TH CAREER GOALB
Sophomore Christina Dove found the back of the net three times in Syracuse’s win against Loyola, giving her 100 goals in her career. She is the seventh player in school history to score 100 goals.
Earlier this season Dove became the 10th Orange player to score 100 career points. She has 124 points in her career, which ranks eighth on the all-time scoring list. She needs just three points to pass Jill DePetris (2004-07) for seventh place.
SYRACUSE - CORNELL SERIES
This is the 12th all-time meeting between Syracuse and Cornell. The Orange holds a slim lead in the series, 6-5. The home team has won 10 of the 11 previous meetings.

Today’s game is the 12th all-time meeting between the two schools ... The win against Loyola was the 119th in the history of the Syracuse program ... The Orange needs just four goals to set the school record for most goals in a season. The current record is 288 set last season in 19 games ... Neither Syracuse or Cornell has lost a game this month. Syracuse has won a season-best six straight, while the Big Red has won five in a row. SU’s last loss came on March 24 against Northwestern, while Cornell’s last loss was on March 29 against Princeton.
