
Knapp Named Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Ryan Knapp, a member of the men’s crew team, is the Syracuse University Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of May 19.
Knapp, from Sandy Hook, Conn., is a six-time Athletic Director’s Honor Roll selection. He is dual-majoring in mechanical engineering and management study.
Knapp rowed as part of the third varsity eight boat during the 2006-07 season. During the 2008 season, he has sat in the four-seat of the second varsity eight boat.
The Orange varsity eight (6:17.292) boat finished fourth in the petite final at the Eastern Sprints in Worcester, Mass on May 18. The second varsity eight repeated as petite final champions with a time of 6:14.919. Syracuse concludes the 2008 season at the IRA Regatta in Camden, N.J. on June 5.
