Bedsworth And Majewski Named 2008-09 Athletic Communication Interns At Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse University named Susan Bedsworth and Mark Majewski athletic communications interns for the 2008-09 academic year. At Syracuse, Bedsworth will serve as the primary contact for volleyball, swimming and diving and softball. She will also assist with men’s basketball and men’s lacrosse. Majewski will serve as the primary contact for women’s ice hockey, women’s tennis and cross country/track and field. He will assist with football, women’s basketball, and women’s lacrosse.

Bedsworth earned her degree in public relations from Pennsylvania State in 2008. She was a student assistant in the Penn State Athletic Communications Office and served as the primary contact for women’s tennis and men’s and women’s fencing. She also assisted with basketball, football, gymnastics, lacrosse, and soccer. She worked at the 2006 NCAA Women’s Basketball first- and second-rounds, the 2006 NCAA Men’s Volleyball Championship, the 2007 NCAA Men’s Gymnastics Championship, and the 2006 NCAA Women’s Soccer first and second rounds and the 2007 NCAA Women’s Volleyball first and second rounds.

Majewski comes to Syracuse from Saint Francis (Pa.) where he was an athletic media assistant. He was the primary contact for football, men’s and women’s golf and women’s lacrosse. He previously worked as an intern with the Plymouth Whalers Hockey Club, the Oakland athletic department and the USA Hockey National Team Development Program. He was sports information director for the Illinois Junior Golf Association for the summer of 2007.

Majewski earned his bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, sports management and communication at Michigan in 2005. His master’s degree in education with a concentration in sports administration came from Wayne State (Mich.) in 2007.
