What was your ‘Welcome to college football' moment?
It was going against (former SU standout and current Jacksonville Jaguar) James Wyche – a one-on-one pass pro. He pretty much put me on my head for the first time.
With only a week left before the 2008 opener, what does the team need to work on the most to prepare for Northwestern?
We have to just polish stuff up and try and stay focused and keep pushing through.
What is one part of your game that you feel more confident about this year than last year?
I just feel more comfortable all-around. I feel a lot more comfortable on the right side.
Have you noticed any one player or unit of players that has really broken through this camp?
I can't say one unit, I just really feel everybody together has gotten a lot better and has been working really hard.
What's the most challenging part about playing the offensive line the basic fan wouldn't think about?
I feel like the most challenging part, mentally, is that when anything happens wrong with the offense is pretty much your fault.
What Syracuse University class has taught you the most?
There was a class this past summer that really taught me how to manage my time. I had a 25-page paper and a 15-page paper.
Five years after graduating from Syracuse I will be …
Hopefully counseling somewhere.
What would be a nice present from your starting quarterback after protecting him all year?
(Smiles) I have to think of something appropriate … probably just a really nice meal or something like that.
Advice to first-year teammates?
Remember it's your first year and keep working hard. I feel like a lot of guys come into camp and expect things to be like their high school experience and be the star, but they have to realize that everyone here was a star on their team at one point or another. You have to come in and just work hard.

What is on the pre-game mix on your iPod?
It changes all the time.
Other than football, what sport do you think you could dominate at Syracuse?
If I'd a grown a couple more inches, I could've been a basketball player.
