SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Orange women’s basketball team remains on the road for its second game of the 2008-09 campaign when SU travels to Princess Anne, Md. for a contest against Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday, November 16 at 6 p.m.
It will be the second meeting between the two programs. The Orange defeated the Hawks, 85-56, last season in the Carrier Dome. Five players scored in double-digits and Fantasia Goodwin posted the eighth double-double of her career and fifth of the season by posting a game-high 19 points and 13 rebounds.
In his fifth season with UMES, head coach Fred Batchelor has a core of seven returners. With a recruiting class of seven freshmen and one transfer, the Lady Hawks will try to fill the holes left by Kristi Veltkamp and Brittney Adkins. UMES finished last season with a 17-13 record.
