SYRACUSE, N.Y. – #23/22 Syracuse (18-7, 6-6) and Georgetown (13-9, 4-7) will meet for the second time this season at 12 p.m. at the Carrier Dome on Saturday, Feb. 14. A crowd of 30,000-plus is expected to witness the Valentine's Day matchup. The Orange already boasts the largest Division I basketball on-campus crowd in the nation this season as 30,021 fans watched Syracuse defeat Notre Dame on Jan. 17.
Fans are encouraged to wear their Orange and take part in an "Orange Out" to support the team.
Saturday's game is part of ESPN's continuing coverage of Rivalry Week and it will be shown live nationally. Fans can listen to the action via the Syracuse ISP Sports Network and its flagship station TK 99 (99.5 FM). The audio stream of the radio broadcast will on SUathletics.com as part of Orange All Access. The game is also available on ESPN360.com
ABOUT THE ORANGE
Syracuse has lost five of its last six and is currently eighth in the conference standings with a 6-6 league record. Four of the team's losses in the stretch have come on the road. The Orange's only victory during that span was a 74-61 thrashing of West Virginia on Feb. 4 at the Carrier Dome.
Saturday's game will mark the 65th time SU head coach Jim Boeheim will face the Hoyas. He is 32-32 all-time in his career against Georgetown.
Sophomore Jonny Flynn (17.2 ppg) has led the team in scoring in each of the last three games, including notching 16 points at No. 1 Connecticut on Wednesday. He also recorded five rebounds and a steal against the Huskies. Of late, Flynn has done a lot of his damage from the free-throw line, connecting on 35 of his last 41 attempts dating back to the Louisville game. In addition, Flynn is creeping up on 1,000 career points. He currently needs 23 more to become the 51st player in school history to reach that plateau.
Junior Eric Devendorf was a consistent scoring presence again for the Orange, netting 12 points in the Connecticut loss. Both Flynn and Devendorf have been effective scorers throughout their careers against the Hoyas. Flynn is averaging 18.3 ppg in three games against the Hoyas. Devendorf has scored 14.0 ppg in his four outings versus Georgetown.
Senior forward Kristof Ongenaet continued his solid defensive play at Connecticut. Ongenaet played 28 minutes and secured a team-best eight rebounds. He also tied his career bests with three blocks and three steals.
SCOUTING GEORGETOWN
Like Syracuse, Coach John Thompson III's squad has struggled of late. Georgetown has lost six of their last seven games. The Hoyas fell short in overtime, 64- 62, against Cincinnati on Feb. 7 in its latest scrum. The Hoyas' only win since Jan. 17 was a 57-47 triumph against Rutgers on Feb. 3.

Forward DaJuan Summers is the Hoyas' leading scorer at 14.2 ppg. He has started all 22 games and had seven points, seven rebounds and one block against Cincinnati.
Freshman center Greg Monroe had a team-high 13 points and contributed six rebounds and five steals against the Bearcats. Monroe has been named to the Midseason Top 30 list of candidates for the John R. Wooden Award. Monroe leads the Hoyas in several statistical categories, including rebound average (6.4 rpg), steals average (1.8 spg) and blocked shots per game (1.6).
Austin Freeman (12.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg) and Chris Wright (12.0 ppg, 3.0 rpg) have started every game for the Hoyas. Jessie Sapp (6.4 ppg, 3.9 rpg) has started every game but one and will likely round out Thompson III's starting five.
THE SERIES
The Orange holds a slim 43-37 advantage in the all-time series with Georgetown and is 28-10 against the Hoyas in games played in Syracuse. The Orange has captured three of the last five and eight of the last 11 series meetings. Georgetown defeated Syracuse earlier this season, 88-74, at the Verizon Center. Devendorf was the catalyst for the Orange with a team-best 20 points. Sophomore forward Rick Jackson chipped in a career-best 17 points.
