SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Syracuse swimming and diving team hosted its final dual meet of the season with the Syracuse Chargers. The Orange had three more swimmers qualify for the BIG EAST Championship.
Seniors Matt Brock and Colin Murphy are the newest additions to SU's BIG EAST qualifiers list. Brock competed in the 100 yard Freestyle and finished at a clip of 48.41, beating the qualifying time by .16. Murphy swam the 100 yard Backstroke and touched the wall in 55.85, beating the conference qualifying time by more than three-tenths of a second.
On the women's side, it was senior Sarah Manning who qualified for the BIG EAST Championship. She competed in the 100 yard Butterfly finishing with a qualifying time of 59.62.
The swimming and diving team will spend the next few days preparing for the BIG EAST Championship held in Indianapolis, Ind. on the campus of Indiana University. For the first time the BIG EAST conference will offer unprecedented coverage of the event via BIGEAST.tv, the league's online streaming platform, with a three-camera production.
