SYRACUSE, N.Y. – In addition to the three events the Orange track & field team is participating in this weekend, including the Syracuse Invitational at Manley Field House on Friday, Feb. 6 and Saturday, Feb. 7, head coach Chris Fox will test two of his proven distance runners, junior Brad Miller and senior Kyle Heath, at the Reebok Boston Indoor Games on Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Reggie Lewis Center on the campus of Roxbury Community College.
Miller and Heath own the top indoor mile marks in Syracuse history with times of 4:00.19 and 4:01.47, respectively.
The dashing duet will compete in the mile race which is the final competition on the 23-event billet.
Miller will revisit Beantown after he ran against 131 other competitors in the men's mile in the Boston University Terrier Invitational on Jan. 31. Miller not only claimed first place in the field with an NCAA-Automatic qualifying time, he reset the Syracuse University indoor mile record with a mark of 4:00.19, surpassing Heath's record of 4:01.68 from last season.
In Heath's only race of the year, the Farmington, N.Y. native returned to prime form at the Penn State National Open last weekend with a time of 4:01.47, good enough for third place and an NCAA Provisional-qualifying bid. Heath was one of four athletes to break the Penn State school record. Heath won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at both the IC4A and BIG EAST Championships last year
The Reebok Boston Indoor Games is the second stop in USA Track & Field's Visa Championship Series.
