SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- More than 1,000 lacrosse fans took part in a youth clinic as part of the second annual Gary Gait Laxapalooza in the Carrier Dome on Saturday, Feb. 7. The free event, presented by Syracuse University, TK99 and Galaxy Communications, featured the Syracuse men's lacrosse squad's scrimmage against Harvard, the youth clinic with the Orange men's and women's lacrosse teams and a shooting demonstration by Syracuse head women's lacrosse coach Gary Gait, 2008 Hall of Fame inductee Tom Marechek and Joe Walters, a member of the Rochester Knighthawks.

Youth ages 8-18 refined their skills in a clinic with members of the Orange lacrosse teams. The day ended with games and contests and an autograph session. A Fan Zone was open following the autograph session, featuring games, contests and prizes for youth ages 18 and under.
TK99 personalities Gomez and Dave and Dave Frisina provided music throughout the event.
Gait and the No. 2-ranked Syracuse women's lacrosse squad opens the 2009 season on Sunday, Feb. 15 against Le Moyne at the Carrier Dome at noon.
