Flashes Of Flynn

Sophomore guard Jonny Flynn, a candidate for the John R. Wooden Award (Player of the Year) and Bob Cousy Award (Point Guard) offered the following observations as Syracuse prepared for its Wednesday night appearance in the BIG EAST Conference Tournament:
What's it like playing at Madison Squard Garden? It's great. One of the last, great standing venues in the U.S. You've got the "Great Western Forum" and you've got Madison Square Garden. To be able to play basketball in a place like that, where all the greats have played -- not only in basketball but in other sports, great singers, great artists -- just a great venue with a lot of history.
When Syracuse plays in The Garden, can you hear the Syracuse fans? Definitely! We call this (MSG) the second home for us. When you look in the crowd, no matter who we are playing you see all Orange. Even when we played St. John's this year you could hear the "let's go orange" cheer.
When you are in the hotel getting ready for your game do you watch the other BIG EAST Tournament games on TV? Definitely! I'm a basketball head. I love basketball and no matter who is playing I'm going to watch the game. Especially in a week like this, a championship week, when a lot of teams are getting knocked off, and a lot of crazy things are happening -- this is when college basketball is at its best.
