SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Senior Jake Presutti (Belmont, N.Y.) is the Syracuse University Male Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 2, 2009.
Presutti, a guard on the men's basketball team, has seen time in 11 games this season on his way to helping the Orange to a 21-8 overall record. He has put the exclamation point on two of Syracuse's wins this season, nailing a three pointer in the final 10 seconds of both games. The first came against Colgate when he sank a trifecta at the six second mark and the second came most recently against St. John's in the final three seconds.
Presutti, who joined the team his sophomore year, graduated in May of 2008 with a degree in child and family studies. He is now working towards a master's in instructional design, development and evaluation in the School of Education.

The men's basketball team is back in action Tuesday, March 3 for its final home game of the season. The Orange men host Rutgers in a 9 p.m. matchup on Senior Night.
Senior Nicole Miller (Simi Valley, Calif.) is the Syracuse University Female Scholar-Athlete of the Week for the week of March 2, 2009.
Miller has helped lead the Orange softball team (9-4) to its best start since 2005 when it started of the season 9-4. The Orange is coming off a weekend spent at the UCF Invitational where it went 4-1 with wins against Maine, UCF, Eastern Michigan and Tennessee State.
The infielder put in one of her best performances of the season against UCF on Friday, February 27. She finished 2-for-3 with one run, an RBI and her first home run of the season. SU came away with a 3-2 victory against the Golden Knights. Miller currently leads the team with 71 putouts on the season after playing in 11 games.
Miller, a communication and rhetoric major in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and the rest of the 2009 Orange softball team is back in action this weekend with five more games. Up first is Cal State Fullerton on Friday, March 6 (6 p.m. PST), followed by the two-day Long Beach State Tournament March 7-8.
