SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The second-ranked Orange men's lacrosse team continues its homestand at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 when its hosts Binghamton at the Carrier Dome.The Orange is 4-1 and coming off a 14-11 victory against Johns Hopkins on March 14 in the rematch of last season's national championship game. Binghamton is 1-5. The Bearcats lost to Bellarmine by the score 9-7 in a neutral site affair on March 18.
Tickets are available online at SUathletics.com, over the phone (1-888-DOMETIX), or in person at the Carrier Dome Box Office during normal business hours. Fans will be able to receive their tickets right after purchase by using the "Ticketfast" delivery method. 'Cuse Kids Club members get in free with their membership card. Gates will open at 12:30 p.m and fans should plan to arrive early.
Saturday's game will air live locally on Time Warner Sports 26 in Syracuse. Fans can listen to the action live on WTLA-1200 AM. The audio and video streams of the broadcast are available world-wide on SUathletics.com as part of Orange All Access.
DOMINATING STRETCH
- The Orange is 20-3 since the start of the 2008 season. Syracuse won a school-record 16 games last year and finished 16-2 on its way to its NCAA-record 10th national championship. Syracuse is off to a 4-1 start this season.
- Syracuse has outscored its opponents 318 to 177 during that time, an average of 13.8 goals per game to 7.7 goals per game.
- All three losses since the start of 2008 have been by a single goal. Virginia defeated the Orange in overtime at last season's Konica Minolta Face-Off Classic, 14-13, and posted a 13-12 win at the Carrier Dome on Feb. 27, 2008. Syracuse also lost at Colgate in the 2008 regular-season finale, 12-11.
- The Orange is 12-1 at home since the start of last season.
- Syracuse has held the advantage in ground balls over its opponents 18 times in the 23 games and the team is 17-1 in those contests (14-0 in 2008; 3-1 in 2009).

- Syracuse features 16 different players that have scored goals this season.

LAST TIME OUT - VS. JOHNS HOPKINS, MARCH 14, 2009
- The Orange defeated archrival Johns Hopkins, 14-11, at the Carrier Dome in rematch of the 2008 national championship game.
- Syracuse used a 6-0 run in the first half and a 5-1 run to start the second half to take control of the game.
- The Orange featured nine different goal scorers and had four players record multiple goals (Josh Amidon 3, Stephen Keogh 2, Pat Perritt 2, Matt Abbott 2). Amidon's three goals were a career high.
- Senior captain Spencer Van Schaack scored his first goal of the year in the second quarter.
- Eleven of Syracuse's 14 goals were assisted.
- Syracuse outshot the Blue Jays, 45-34, for the game owned a 29-6 margin in the first half.
SCOUTING THE BEARCATS
- Binghamton opened its season with four consecutive losses before defeating Marist, 12-7, on March 7. The Bearcats lost a neutral-site matchup on March 18 to Bellarmine, 9-7, in their most recent outing.
- Juinor Andy Cook, sophomore Brian Donahue and junior Steve Carlson have combined to score 20 of the team's 32 goals. Cook leads the team in scoring (14 points) and goals (8).
- Senior faceoff specialist J.P. Wioncek has won 44-of-99 (.455) draws on the season.
- Senior goalie Larry Kline has played every minute in net for Binghamton. He has 56 saves and 10.17 goals-against average.
- Ed Stephenson is the only head coach in the history of the Binghamton program. He is in his eighth season and owns an overall record of 35-61. Stephenson played collegiately at Towson and earned All-America honors in 1989.
SERIES NOTES
- Syracuse is 2-0 all-time against the Bearcats and has won the previous two matchups by the aggregate score of 32-12.
- The Orange defeated Binghamton, 16-2, in 2008. The Bearcats' two goals represented the fewest ever scored by an opponent in the Carrier Dome.
- Syracuse's win against the Bearcats on March 24, 2007 was the 100th for head coach John Desko. He became the fastest active head coach to win 100 games, achieving the feat in his 133rd contest.
- Syracuse dominated on faceoffs in the 2007 meeting, holding a 23-5 advantage at the X. The Orange is 34-for-49 at the faceoff stripe (.694) in the two games.
- The Orange defense held the Bearcats without a goal for the first 26:20 of last year's 16-2 win. Binghamton's first goal was scored by Andy Cook with 3:40 to play in the first half.
