Curry A National Lacrosse HOF Finalist

BALTIMORE, Md. – Former SU midfielder Todd Curry is one of 24 finalists on the ballot for induction into the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Twelve men and 12 women make up the ballot from which this year's class will be selected. U.S. Lacrosse will announce the 2009 induction class on Saturday, May 23.

Joining Curry on the ballot are: Mike Burnett (player; North Carolina), Barbara Doran (player; Penn State), Mac Ford (player; North Carolina), Eleanor Keady Gaffney (player; U.S. Women's National Team), Pat Genovese (coach; William Smith), Cheri Greer (player; Virginia), Jack Kaley (coach; New York Tech), Jake Lawlor (player; Navy), Jeff Long (player; Navy), Kevin Lowe (player; Princeton), Francesca Den Hartog McClellan (player; Harvard), Mark Millon (player; Massachusetts), Steve Mitchell (player; Johns Hopkins), Jennifer O'Donnell (umpire), Susan Billheimer Phillips (player; Bridgewater College), Jack Salerno (coach; Elmont (N.Y.) HS), Mary McCarthy Stefano (player; Penn State), Robert Vencak (player; Rutgers), Jessica Wilk (player; Maryland), Sandra Lanahan Zvosec (player; Maryland) and contributors Bruce Allison, Michele LeFevre Doyle and Lisette M. Walter.

Curry starred for the Orange from 1984 to 1987 and helped the team to a 52-10 record during his four seasons. He finished his career with 93 goals and took home the Lt. Donald C. MacLaughlin Jr. Award as nation's top midfielder as a senior. Curry was a three-time All-American at Syracuse (1985-87) and he competed for the U.S. National Team in 1986 and 1994. He was inducted into the Upstate New York chapter of the Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2002.
