Syracuse Director of Athletics Dr. Daryl Gross and assistant men's basketball coach Mike Hopkins are modeling tonight in the Bella Casa Celebrity Fashion Show, which benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY. The sold out event starts at 6:00 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres and raffles and the fashion show begins at 8:00 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Electronics Parkway. The fashion show also features Pastabilities owner Karen Korteling, Time Warner Sports general manager Doug Logan, Onondaga County Legislator Hon. Kathy Rapp, and SUNY Upstate Medical clinical professor of pediatrics Dr. Frank Smith.
Fashions for the show are provided by Elsbeth Rose, Eva's Boutique, Oleander, Showoff's, Mr. Shop Syracuse, and Giovanni's Men's Fashion and Formal Wear. Vendors will be on hand selling clothing, handbags, wine and spirits, jewelry and baked goods.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of CNY operates the 16-bedroom CNY Ronald McDonald House 24-hours a day, year-round as a “home away from home” for families whose children are hospitalized with serious illnesses or injuries. RMHC of CNY is planning to build a new, larger Ronald McDonald House that will allow the organization to help keep even more families with seriously ill children together. The charity also funds the outpatient Child Life Play Areas at the Children's Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at University Hospital and issues mini-grants to help support 501c3 charities meeting the needs of children.
